Teaching Museum South names Student Heroes

The Fulton County School System’s Teaching Museum South proudly announces its second class of Student Heroes.

Last spring, the museum debuted the Student Heroes recognition program as a way to celebrate preteens and teens who are exemplary representatives of their schools. Students from each South Fulton middle and high school were nominated in one of five categories – academics, student athleticism, overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds, talent and community service/community activism.

A ceremony to honor the students is planned for 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, at the museum. Congressman David Scott, Fulton County Commissioner William “Bill” Edwards and Senator Donzella James are scheduled to attend. In addition, each Student Hero will receive a $400 U.S. Savings Bond courtesy of the Airport Area Chamber of Commerce, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (Phi Tau Omega chapter), Wachovia/Wells Fargo Bank, Continental Realty and the Georgia Power Foundation.
